After the classic Brandy Suau and Suau Orange, now it’s the turn of its new Jungla Rum, another new product to be found on the lists at Bodegas Suau, one of the most select and exquisite in the sector
Behind every great brand there’s always a great history, and Bodegas Suau is no exception. In the middle of the 19th century, a Spanish ship known as ‘El Mallorquín’ sailed the seas, captained by a merchant adventurer, Don Juan Suau Bennasar. His ventures into Caribbean lands and his love for a Mallorcan woman, whose father was linked to the liquor trade, is the history behind the present day Bodegas Suau.
A list of elegant, sophisticated products
An extensive and elegant offer of brandy comprise the list of alcohol at Bodegas Suau that, rather than stand still and stagnate, continues to innovate year after year, hedging its bets on new proposals and drinks. From the classic Suau Brandy or “Barquito”, launched in 1951, which today gives us aged products of 15, 25 and 50 years. But the history of Bodegas Suau will forever be entwined with the paradise isles, the sea and distant lands, and this has resulted in the new rum Jungla, a personal commitment to achieve an exclusive product with a special bouquet. With fine quality rum, aged in the Caribbean, a second ageing process takes place in the Mallorcan cellars, in casks that were previously used for ageing its celebrated Snau brandy.
Club Suau, a brilliant and successful idea
True connoisseurs of quality brandy will find their best ally at Bodegas Suau, and even more so when it comes to Club Suau. Ángel Zuasti, who was responsible for founding the club, was a long-standing technician at Bodegas Snau and he thought that creating the club would help to build customer loyalty and provide added value to the Suau brand. He wasn’t mistaken. Customers that join the club purchase a 32 litre cask, that can only be handled by the customers themselves or employees, always under supervision. In this way, club members can withdraw up to eight bottles a year, not one more, not if they want it to be the Suau brand. In almost 15 years, the club has sold over 300 casks, quite an achievement that confirms the excellent work and resounding success of this great brand.
