A space to relax. A place where you can have dinner and drinks. A place to enjoy the sun. A vantage point with a spectacular sunset. An open air pub with good music, and, even a DJ. All of this comes together in a single business: beach clubs. This is not a new concept in the Balearic Islands. In Ibiza, which is ahead of the game in terms of luxury tourism, they are already a tradition. Marbella in Spain and Palm Beach in Florida paved the way.

In Mallorca, they have gradually grown in number over the last few years and are beginning to create a unique style. With relaxation, fun, good food and drink, and the chance to access the best views and beaches in the Mediterranean, these exclusive beach clubs bring us closer to an exclusive world, full of fancies that stimulate the five senses and create unforgettable moments both during the day and at night.

Premium has chosen four of them to introduce to its readers. Not all of the great ones are included, but of course, the ones that are included are great.

We begin our journey at Puro Beach, a classic spot that has been setting trends for the last twelve seasons. In Can Pastilla, within an accessible area, it offers massages, a spa, swimming pool, and the chance to take a dip in the sea. This year, organic cocktails are in fashion and Puro stands out with its “Monkey Milkshake” created from almond milk, Chia seeds, banana and strawberries. As for the cuisine, there are salads, wok dishes, and even a menu for vegans. In the evening, the Sunset Experiences are the meeting point for people that want to end the day in the best way possible. On Sundays, the “Sunday Brunch by the pool” is a very appealing option after a frenetic Saturday night.

We head a few kilometres towards Llucmajor and arrive at what has undoubtedly been the big sensation of the last few seasons. Mhares Sea Club. Located at the foot of the shore by the Maioris and Puig des Ros resorts, the former swimming pool of the Hotel Delta has been reconverted into a fashionable spot and venue for multiple events in Mallorca’s day and night life. These range from family celebrations to company events, the place brings together everything you could hope to find: exclusivity, services, impressive views, and above all, a spectacular sunset. The establishment emerges out from the rocks, which at one point served as the quarry for Palma Cathedral, and there are crystalline waters barely 50 metres away, enticing for a dip, if you want something more than the pool and extensive solarium. In addition to the hammocks and Bali beds, the bar and food service are essential elements.

Heading in the opposite direction will take you to Cape Nao, the beach club of the new Hotel Melia Calvià. In terms of the commitment of Mallorcan hotel owners to the regeneration of Magalluf-Palma Nova, this premise adjacent to the hotel offers clear proof that this is possible. Also, in addition to tourists, it is also open to residents. Cape Nao really stands out for its “gourmet” experience which combines modernity and tradition based around exquisite Mediterranean gastronomy and top quality local produce. It is an ideal place for informal meals during the day and excellent meals brightened up with live music. The views over the Cap Nao cliff, from the relaxation areas are spectacular and the restaurant services extend down to the beachfront. There is no doubt that Melia has reconquered Calvià.

We end our route with another hotel chain, the Iberostar group. They offer two “SeaSoul” complexes, one in Cala Barca (Porto Petro) and another on Playa de Palma. Select ambient music and exotic cocktails in Balinese hammocks are some of the experiences offered by these Mediterranean oases, whose hallmarks are luxury and comfort, as a prelude to gastronomy, service and entertainment. Midday is dominated by à la carte service, where the large range of wines and champagnes really stands out, and nightfall is the perfect time to enjoy the exclusive cocktails created with all kinds of premium brands. SeaSoul Restaurante & Lounge is a luxurious spot filled with delights, and it also presents itself as a multifunctional space for holding and organising events. This is a different destination, with a modern and fresh touch where you can enjoy the best views over the Mediterranean Sea.

We have plenty more places to write about. Enjoy them. Have fun. It is summer.
